What Is CHHA Certification and How Do You Get It in New Jersey?

A career as a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) in New Jersey is meaningful, in-demand, and accessible.

What Is a CHHA?

A Certified Home Health Aide is a professional caregiver licensed by the State of New Jersey to provide personal care and health-related services to clients in their homes.

The 76-Hour Training Program

New Jersey requires all CHHAs to complete a state-approved 76-hour training program covering classroom instruction, hands-on skills lab training, and supervised clinical hours. Friendly Home Care LLC offers this program in both English and Spanish.

The Certification Exam

After completing the 76-hour program, candidates must pass the New Jersey CHHA Competency Evaluation — a written test and hands-on skills demonstration.
